We wander into the capital of Mississippi, Jackson. Well, first impressions always count, and believe me second, third or even fourth impressions would not make this town any better. It was totally razed in the civil war except for the Capitol building, the governors mansion and City Hall. And now what has been built is tired and unloved though the new Capitol building is being renovated. We move on from Jackson heading for Hattiesburg for the evening. On the way we pass through Mendenhall which has a beautiful Court House. At Mount Olive, there is a pharmacy that is still set up as the old drug store with the soda fountain. Not open, of course on a Sunday but we do look through the window and like the hardware store in Tupelo, represents a time gone by. Not a real photographic day today, though we did see a deer but way to quick for a photo!!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI love the commentary. Best wishes from a rainy Perth.

Over here when it rains it absolutely pours, but we've been very lucky. Also still hot. Having a great time. Thanks for the comments.
